چکیده
Catalytic hydrotreatment (HT) is one of the most important refining steps in actual petroleum-based refineries for production fuels and chemicals, it will play also a crucial role development biomass-based refineries. In fact, utilization HT processes upgrading biomass and/or lignocellulosic residues aimed to synthetic chemical intermediates represents reliable strategy reduce both carbon dioxide emissions fossil dependence. At this regard, catalytic oils obtained from either thermochemical (e.g., pyrolysis) or physical vegetable seeds pressing) allows convert biomass-derived into biofuel with properties very similar conventional ones (so-called drop-in biofuels). Similarly, hydro-processing may have key valorization other biorefinery streams, such as lignocellulose, high-added value chemicals. This review focused on recent developments stabilizing pyrolytic oil biomasses. A particular emphasis devoted catalyst formulation, reaction pathways, technologies.

Catalytic Hydrotreatment of Light Distillates Obtained from Bio-Oil for Use in Oxygenated Liquid Fuels
Bio-oil can be fractionated into three parts according to their boiling points. This research reported that light distillates could be converted into oxygenated liquid fuels through a two-stage hydrotreatment approach, using a Pd/C catalyst. The main goal of the first hydrotreatment stage was to stabilize the high active components, which contained carbon–carbon double bonds and aldehyde groups...
متن کاملUpgrading of Pyrolysis Bio-oil: A Review
The increase in the population of the planet and the rapid economic growth and, consequently, the high consumption of energy has created many environmental problems in the globe. Due to these reasons and the lack of renewability of these fossil fuels, there has been a steep trend towards the production of renewable fuels from natural sources, one of which is the production of energy from biomas...
متن کاملPyrolysis of Seaweeds for Bio-oil and Bio-char Production
A pyrolysis study on a species of brown algae Saccharina japonica was carried out in a fixed-bed reactor. The yields of bio-oil and bio-char obtained at 450 C were 47 % and 33 %, respectively. The raw S, japonica, ethanol and acid pretreated samples and the resulting pyrolysis products were also characterized with respect to proximate and ultimate analysis, and higher heating value. The crude b...

Amidoalkyl-2-naphthols as synthetic intermediates play an important role in medicinal chemistry due to their remarkable biological and many pharmacological properties. Owing to the versatile biological activities, industrial and synthetic applications of these compounds, introduction of an alternative methodology is urgent in synthetic organic chemistry. Low yield and harsh reaction conditions ...
متن کاملSynthesis of Bio-aromatics from Black Liquors Using Catalytic Pyrolysis
Bio-aromatics (benzene, toluene, xylenes, BTX) were prepared by the catalytic pyrolysis of six different black liquors using both in situ and ex situ approaches. A wide range of catalysts was screened and conditions were optimized in microscale reactors. Up to 7 wt % of BTX, based on the organic fraction of the black liquors, was obtained for both the in situ and ex situ pyrolysis (T = 500-600 ...
